Karen M.

How has it been for you during the stay-at-home order?

During the stay at home order, God has used me to help sew masks for our frontline medical workers and for my family and friends. I give thanks to God who provided all the materials through donations and I have put them in good use. High tech Zoom meetings have also been a blessing for me to communicate with my cell group sisters so that we could continue to foster fellowship during this pandemic and grow spiritually in His word. In some quiet moments, I am amazed by how God has taught me to appreciate little things as they come along, to value and cherish relationships with others, and never take things for granted in life!

What are some things you've been doing that you wouldn't have been doing before the pandemic?

One thing that stands out quite obviously is that I am able to see my siblings more often than any other time over the years. We are blessed to spend time together in my house chit-chatting, reminiscing about old times, cooking, etc. I also have time to catch up with cleaning and getting rid of unwanted clutter. Best yet, my nephew found my mom's unfinished quilt blanket that my mom left for me to complete!

Any words of wisdom or encouragement to others?

During this pandemic, I thank God because I do not live in fear or uncertainty. I know I will always have hope in Him. I thank Him for safeguarding my family and uplifting our spirits in Him. I would like to share these verses:

Matthew 6:33 “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.”

Let us heed to God's words. May God bless us!
